The border Between Nepal and Tibet
The border Between Nepal and Tibet is 1,389 kilometers long and runs along the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. At present, 5 ports of entry are available, from northwest to southeast, namely, Purang Port, Gyirong Port, Zhangmu Port, Chentang Port and Riwu Port. Among the 5 ports, Purang and Gyirong are open to tourists and goods transport while Zhangmu is closed due to the earthquake in 2015. Riwu and Chentang are only used tor bilateral trade between China and Nepal, including transactions of wool, tea, spices and salt.
