"When I was on the court anA group led by Jon Bon Jovi, the Rogers family and Maple Leafs Sports and Entertainment chairman Larry Tannenbaum has been informed that it is a finalist in the bidding for the Buffalo Bills. The Toronto Sun reported Monday that the group is scheduled to meet with Ralph Wilsons estate, the current owners of the team, and their transaction team on Tuesday in New York after being told this past week that their bid had progressed from the initial stage. All bids in the first stage were non-binding. The news comes only two weeks after word broke that the groups initial bid for the team was deemed insufficient for being uncompetitively low. The Sun reports that the bid could have been under the $800 million range. The estates trust, Morgan Stanley, and its law firm, Proskauer Rose, also expressed doubt over the Toronto groups commitment to keep the club in Western New York. Though theres a non-disclosure agreement in place with bidders, its believed that the Toronto groups resubmitted application gave greater assurances about the club remaining in the Buffalo area. The Toronto group becomes the third known finalist after successful bids from real estate mogul Donald Trump and Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula. Former Sabres owner Tom Golisano is expected to be a fourth finalist. Only Trump, Pegula and the Toronto group submitted bids in the non-binding stage. The Buffalo News recently reported that the estate is expected to meet with up to eight finalists in the coming days. The group already met with Trump last Wednesday in Detroit. After the finalists submit a binding bid, likely by the end of the month, the estate will select a preferred buyer and open negotiations. The team became available for sale after the death of Wilson last March at age 95. They did a good job of spacing and knocking down shots.Paul scored 24 points for Los Angeles, while Blake Griffin added 19 points. Jordan had 12 points and 15 rebounds. We let those guys get comfortable, Paul said of the Pelicans. We gave them a few dare shots early (from the perimeter), guys starting making shots and gaining confidence.New Orleans led by as many as 14 and was up 95-82 after Ajincas llayup as he was fouled by Griffin with 7:38 left.dddddddddddd.But with Paul orchestrating the offence in a stadium where he became an All-Star, Los Angeles scored 12 straight points. Paul started the run with a step-back jumper. He added a floater and two 3s, the second making it 95-94.Gordon ended the surge with his fifth 3. He added a tough 16-foot fade-away over JJ Redick and got another 16-footer to fall, making it 106-100.Gordon was injured for much of his first two seasons in New Orleans. Then he began deferring more as Davis emerged as the Pelicans franchise player. But the veteran guard said he still has the mindset that he can take over if needed.Ive been put in this position many times, Gordon said. I tried to just make the right plays at the end of the game, so it was good for me to knock down those couple shots. The Pelicans outrebounded the Clippers 51-38, with 14 coming on the offensive end. Cunningham grabbed 12 rebounds. They pushed us around, Griffin said. They played how they wanted to play. We came out and didnt play with any energy and didnt play with any passion.
