Buddha head stolen from Tianlongshan Cave returned China

The head of Tianlongshan Cave was returned to his home in Taiyuan City, north China's Shanxi Province. on saturday It is the first time in nearly a century that antiques have been returned from Japan to China.

The sculpture shows a Buddha with a round face that purs his lips with a smile. The carvings feature the characteristics of the Late Northern Dynasty (386-581) to the Early Sui Dynasty (581-619). The head is 33.7 cm long, 30.4 cm wide, and 44.5 cm high, and weighs 55.5 kg.
The head, which was brought back from Japan on December 12, 2020, is the 100th relic that China will recall from overseas in 2020, according to the National Cultural Heritage Agency (NCHA).
