Sony Blends Light And Sound In Its Latest Wireless Speaker Featuring A Flickering Glass Tweeter
Sony has always been known for firsts. Whether that be the Trinitron TV tube or the Walkman, the company has a way of leading the way from time to time with new technology. This minimalistic and portable home speaker uses its design to produce what Sony describes as “stunning sound quality”. The company explains that this is thanks to the inclusion of Advanced Vertical Drive Technology in the LSPX-S3, which uses three Actuators that discreetly attach to the end of the organic glass, vibrating the entire glass tweeter to emit sound in every direction.
The LSPX-S3 produces clear and powerful high tones from the organic glass tweeter and spreads the sound evenly so that, whatever kind of music is being played, Sony says it will fill every corner of the room whilst creating a cozy atmosphere.
At the heart of the LSPX-S3 is a 46mm speaker unit that produces a mid-range. The speaker also has a passive radiator that boosts the low frequencies. If more bass is needed there is a “Bass Boost mode” that can be activated using Sony’s Music Center smartphone app. The LSPX-S3 is Bluetooth compatible and supports Sony’s LDAC codec for high-quality sound wireless transmission. Two Glass Sound Speakers can be used as a stereo pair so that each speaker can act as a left or right audio channel.
