British government prepares to allow Hong Kong to seek civil rights
The British government is set to offer new visas by the end of January to 5.4 million Hong Kong residents, or 70% of Hong Kong's population. As well as 2.9 million existing British Overseas (BNO) passports (BNO) holders have the right to enter and receive British citizenship status.
